As part of my session fee, I typically include a pre-session phone consultation. If you are a photographer following this blog and haven’t made a pre-consultation phone call or meeting a routine part of your sessions, I highly recommend it. It is always tremendously helpful, and you can learn so much about a family by spending a few minutes getting all the details from mom! By the time I arrived for this session, I felt like I already knew the family. Molly had briefed me on each child’s personality and how they usually get their best pictures. And with names like, Chandler, Fern & June, I knew they would be fun to photograph. Oh, and I absolutely love it when moms agree to let me take some individual pictures. Because really, when do any of us moms ever make it into pictures? I mean a real picture, not one where a little munchkin is sticking their tongue out at us?
